By Kelly Stromberg, Hatchery Manager of Catalina Sea Ranch
Marine aquaculture in the United States contributes to restoration habitats, fisheries, seafood supply and helps the economic activity of coastal communities. California will be the first in the United States to have an offshore shellfish farm in Federal waters. Catalina Sea Ranch will be 100 acres located 6 miles offshore of Huntington Beach, CA and should be able to produce 2.4 million pounds. Come hear more about this new aquaculture facility.
