PolarTREC - Teachers and Researchers Exploring and Collaborating - seeks to advance science education by engaging teachers in current polar research. In this workshop, teachers will learn hands-on activities to bring polar and climate science into the classroom. They will practice lessons that use data from current research projects to help students understand the process of science. Teachers will also learn about field research experiences for educators.
This workshop will be led by Cabrillo Maine Aquarium staff and 2014-2015 PolarTREC teacher, Dominique Richardson, who is participating in research in East Antarctica: www.polartrec.com.
This workshop is a LAUSD pre-approved professional development opportunity for salary point credit.
