San Pedro’s Best Family Halloween Party is back! Cabrillo Marine Aquarium’s Halloween event, “SEA SCARE” is washing ashore on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 6 to 9 p.m.
See Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in a different light as it is transformed into an underwater world of chills, thrills and gills. Come in costume and join in the masquerade of spooks and ghouls, trick-or-treat throughout the aquarium at six different treat stations, enjoy loads of fun and spooky entertainment.
Visit the Aquarium’s Aquatic Nursery for a special treasure hunt, scary sea creature feedings and chilling cryogenic demonstrations. Stop by the Exploration Center for some treats, participate in bioluminescent crafts and learn about deep-sea creatures that lurk in our oceans. Enter the Marine Research Library for some creepy creations and spooky stories. Don’t forget to enter the costume contest for your chance to win some spook-tacular prizes.*
New for 2012! Take a journey through the event’s all new haunted maze, “The Ship of Screams.” Come face to face with the Aquarium’s resident cannibal, Red Bone and try your luck at some of his games of chance or have your fortune read in our newly expanded “Voodoo Village.” Then dance the night away in our all-new, expanded “Sea Scare Party Zone,” with a live DJ and fun games.
Kids of all ages can participate in activities at the Craft Corner such as spooky cookie decorating, slime making, trick-or-treat bag decorating, mask making, plus much more!
With apparitional activities, creepy crafts, dreadful demonstrations and eerie entertainment, SEA SCARE 2012 is sure to be a frightfully good time for the whole family!
***NEW for 2012*** Participate in our first annual Sea Scare poster contest. Draw, paint or create your idea of a "SEA MONSTER". Complete rules are in downloadable flier at the bottom of the page. Entries are due by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st and winners will be notified by October 2nd. Winning posters will be displayed at the aquarium for the month of October. Prizes will be awarded at Sea Scare on Saturday, October 27th.
