Tidepools for Teachers

Saturday, January 12, 2013
12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Teachers learn about the biodiversity found in the rocky shore intertidal habitat and the adaptations organisms have developed to survive in this dynamic ecosystem. Participants will explore our natural tidepools by the cliffs at Cabrillo Beach and receive hands-on classroom activities.

We will start by providing background information on animals and and their habitats in the classroom laboratory, do some fun tidepool focused activities, then head out to the rocky shore in search all sorts of amazing animals including: urchins, sea stars, anemones, slugs, hermit crabs, worms and so much more!

This is a free workshop open to all formal and informal educators. LAUSD teachers, this is a salary point approved workshop.

For registration or for more information, please call the Aquarium at 310-548-7562.

This workshop is generously sponsored by Boeing.
