“Between the Tides” Movie Premier

Friday, March 1, 2013
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us in celebrating nature enthusiasts as we premier the film "Between the Tides" on Friday, March 1st from 7 to 9 p.m. in the John M. Olguin Auditorium.

Filmmaker Peter Coonradt follows the nostalgic journey of marine biologist Bud Laurent as he rekindles his original love for coastal California marine life. A recurring theme throughout this 90-minute film is the impact of Ed Ricketts who co-wrote the 1939 book Between Pacific Tides.

The book is in its 5th edition, has sold more than 100,000 copies making it one of the best-selling books by Stanford Press, and is considered mandatory reading for marine biologists of the Pacific Coast. In the film, the audience experiences a basic love of nature through the people that have been affected by the life and writings of Ed Ricketts.

This is a FREE event and space is limited; please call the Aquarium to reserve your seat(s) at 310-548-7562.
