Sweetheart savings for Gala
Join us for the date night event of the year and experience Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (CMA) as you’ve never seen it before! On the evening of Saturday, May 4, 2013, a giant tent will take up a portion of the Aquarium parking lot transforming what was once just asphalt into a banquet hall under the sky. Here the stage is set for an unforgettable evening celebrating the ocean, marine life and the Aquarium at the Grand Grunion Gala.
This year we’re offering a sweetheart savings for members from now through the end of February! Two tickets are only $350; that’s a savings of $100 off the regular ticket price. And what makes this great deal even better is that proceeds raised from Grand Grunion Gala ticket sales support the Aquarium. By buying tickets, you fund programs, improve exhibits and allow 150,000 schoolchildren to visit on free field trips each year.
And what do you receive in return? A night of entertainment and delight! After arriving at the Gala, head into the tent for the cocktail reception, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy hosted drinks and appetizers while viewing the harbor through the tent’s clear wall. Mix and mingle with like-minded ocean fans and browse more than 100 silent auction items. Bid on fine wine, unique opportunities, travel packages and a host of other goodies.
After cocktails, guests enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by Chef Michael Shafer of the renowned Depot restaurant in Torrance. Spending time with great people in a fantastic setting, what more could you ask for? But that’s not all! After dinner there’s a live auction for once in a lifetime experiences, followed by tributes to our award recipients.
This year’s honorees are Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, John M. Olguin Environment Award; Yvonne Bogdanovich, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Leadership Award; and Carl and Marge Lundgren, Dr. Susanne Lawrenz-Miller Education Award. Learn what these amazing people have done to help the Aquarium, ocean education and the environment. The awards will be presented by Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Dr. Geraldine Knatz, San Pedro Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Mike Lansing and CMA Research Curator Dr. Kiersten Darrow.
We hope to see you on Saturday evening, May 4th at the best party of the year, where profits will support the Aquarium, young scientists and the next generation of ocean guardians. Click here to buy tickets and reserve your space today.
