Clean our Coastline!

September 19th is the 25th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day! Last year over 70,000 volunteers throughout California collected more than 1,600,000 pounds of trash. You can help make a difference!

In 1993, California Coastal Cleanup Day was described by the Guinness Book of World Records as "the largest garbage collection." This program started in 1985, and since then, over 800,000 Californians have collected more than 13 million pounds of trash!

Coastal Cleanup Day is much more than picking up trash. It's a way we can all join together to help and respect our ocean and coastline. Become part of an international effort to help clean our oceans and protect marine life.

You can take part and adopt our Cabrillo Beach and the Point Fermin State Marine Park by joining our coastal clean-up from 9 am - 12 noon. Spend a morning with others who care to improve our ocean ecosystem. We will conclude with an Open House at the Salinas de San Pedro salt marsh from 12 noon to 2 pm. Groups are requested to call ahead. For more information, please call 310-548-7562.
