Join the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium staff and help us educate thousands of visitors each year about the marine environment of Southern California. Interns and Staff serve in many departments in front of the public and behind the scenes. Major divisions include: Aquarists, Exhibits, Research-Aquatic Nursery, Programs, Education, Outreach, Administration, Maintenance, FRIENDS of CMA.
Most intern and staff positions at CMA that open up are part-time. Interested individuals can submit a resume regardless of current opportunities available below. We will add you to our job mailing list to receive flyers of upcoming openings for one year. Full-time positions (Civil Service) are hired through the City of Los Angeles Personnel Division as we are a facility of the Department of Recreation and Parks.
Current part-time job and intern opportunities:
Assist Exhibits Director and Exhibits Curator in IT, AV and the design, construction, and maintenance of interpretive exhibits.
- Some experience in graphic design preferred.
- Experience with computer graphic programs, such as Adobe Illustrator.
- Experience in Audio Visual technology and Information Technology.
- Organizational skills.
- Applicants must be a least 18 years old and posses a valid California driver's license.
Part-time - some evening and weekend work
Monday through Friday - 20 hours per week (flexible)
Two to three year commitment preferred
