  Become a Part of the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Family!
Join the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium staff and help us educate thousands of visitors each year about the marine environment of Southern California. Interns and Staff serve in many departments in front of the public and behind the scenes. Major divisions include: Aquarists, Exhibits, Research-Aquatic Nursery, Programs, Education, Outreach, Administration, Maintenance, FRIENDS of CMA.

Most intern and staff positions at CMA that open up are part-time. Interested individuals can submit a resume regardless of current opportunities being available below. We will add you to our job mailing list to receive flyers of upcoming openings for one year. Full-time positions (Civil Service) are hired through the City of Los Angeles Personnel Division as we are a facility of the Department of Recreation and Parks.

Current part-time job and intern opportunities:

PUBLIC PROGRAM TECHINICAL SUPPORT & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) ASSISTANT (Museum Guide) Part-time ($14.58/hr)

Responsibilities include:
Assist Exhibits Director and Exhibits Curator in IT and AV within the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Occasionally provide technical support for special programs

Qualifications:
  • Experience in Audio Visual technology and Information Technology.
  • Experience with maintenance of computers: set-up, networks, trouble-shooting.
  • Some evening and weekend work.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid California driverís license.
Work schedule:
Part-time
Monday through Friday - 20 hours per week (flexible)
Some weekends and evenings
