The San Pedro Waterfront Arts District is excited to announce a new arts education series at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium called Cuatro@Cabrillo: Arts Adventures for the Culturally Curious.

The four-part series will launch on Sunday, September 16 at 3:30pm, which is Mexico’s Independence Day, and will feature a lecture about the art of Mexico to be delivered by renowned arts scholar Gregorio Luke. Cuatro@Cabrillo will continue in 2019 with the presentation of three films by Oscar-winning Mexican directors.

Cuatro@Cabrillo is Gregorio Luke’s most ambitious work to date. A kaleidoscopic vision of MEXICO; bringing to life the ancient art of the Aztecs and Mayas, the golden beauty of colonial cathedrals, to the vibrant MURALS created after the 1910 revolution and contrasted with the cutting-edge art of contemporary Mexican culture. In this journey, we will explore the lives of DIEGO RIVERA and FRIDA KAHLO, OROZCO, SIQUEIROS, TAMAYO and many more!
