New Executive Director
The New Year brings new leadership to FRIENDS of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (FCMA), with Caroline Brady taking the helm as Executive Director on January 6. In this leadership role, Brady will guide the FCMA team in fundraising, special events, community relations and more, preparing to fund the next chapter in the Aquarium’s legacy.
"I'm looking forward to working with our members and volunteers, the Corporate Circle and amazing staff at the best educational aquarium in Southern California,” said Brady. “As an ocean enthusiast whose children have benefited from programs at the Aquarium, this is a dream job for me.”
Brady has worked in San Pedro since 1989 and is well-known throughout the community. Before joining FCMA, she served as Development Director at Harbor Interfaith Services during a period of unprecedented growth, which included the construction of a $7 million resource center for homeless families. Prior to working at Harbor Interfaith Services, Brady was the San Pedro Deputy for then-Councilwoman Janice Hahn, where she helped to improve traffic safety, plant hundreds of trees and win millions of dollars in park improvement grants.
“We are thrilled to welcome Caroline to the FCMA team,” said Ralph Appy, Chair of FCMA’s Board of Directors. “Her fundraising experience, community connections and belief in the Aquarium’s mission are the perfect combination to lead the organization through a new phase of growth and development.”
Brady replaces Paula Moore, who retired last May after serving FCMA for 14 years, seven as the Executive Director. Charles Ferraro, who served as Interim Executive Director during the transition, will return to serving on the FCMA Board of Directors.
