Dr. Larry G. Allen, Executive Director of the Southern California Marine Institute and Professor of Biology at CSU Northridge, has served on the Science Advisory Board for the selection process of the Marine Protected Areas in Southern California. He has authored and edited many publication on the biogeography and ecology of marine fishes of the Pacific coast of North America including the book, The Ecology of Marine Fishes: California and Adjacent Waters. Dr. Allen will discuss the past, present and future of the commercial and recreational fisheries for California's "sea basses" including white sea bass, giant sea bass, kelp bass and barred sand bass.
