Sewers to Sanddabs: Profiling Orange County Sanitation District’s Ocean Monitoring Program

Orange County Sanitation District-Ocean Monitoring Program
Dr. Armstrong will profile OCSD’s monitoring of the treated wastewater released into the ocean offshore of Huntington and Newport Beaches and discuss their water reclamation efforts.
Dr. Jeff Armstrong is the Environmental Supervisor of the Orange County Sanitation District’s Ocean Monitoring Program. He has been with the District for over 20 years, all in Ocean Monitoring. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology and a Master’s degree in Biology from the California State University, Long Beach, and a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from City University Los Angeles. He is also adjunct faculty at CSU Long Beach working in the Environmental Endocrinology Laboratory researching the effects of contaminants of emerging concern on local marine fish.
