  Tucked behind administrative offices on the second floor and above the Aquatic Nursery is one of CMA’s hidden gems…the library!

The library is open to students, educators, researchers and the general public, including children. It’s a great place for anyone and everyone interested in learning more about Southern California’s marine life, the world’s oceans, marine sciences and much more.

Our library features:
  • A non-lending reference collection of books on everything from ocean animals to oceanography to ocean plants and habitats, plus we are always acquiring new books
  • Access to 50 scientific journals and JSTOR
  • Audiovisual materials about the ocean and marine life
  • An extensive collection of children’s books
  • Six computer terminals with free internet access (using the computers is free, but printing costs 10 cents per page)
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Six study cubicles, perfect for reading or working on a personal laptop
  • Ocean views
  • Space for community events
  • Friendly staff members to help you find what you’re looking for
  • An atmosphere suited for serious studying, relaxed reading or just browsing
