Upcoming Science at the Seashore Events
Mr. D's Tiki Carving
Learn about the cultural history and significance of the tiki and then carve your own! CMA's own master carver will guide students with carving techniques and tool care while you work on carving your own tiki! No previous carving experience needed. Chisels, palm wood and an event T-shirt are included in the class price.

Salt Marsh Open House
Come down to observe migratory birds and investigate the Salinas de San Pedro wetlands habitat at Cabrillo Beach. We'll also examine native plants and animal specimens from CMA collections.

Walk Cabrillo
Pack a snack and join a beach walk guided by CMA's Educators. Start at the Aquarium courtyard and visit the coastal park, beaches, salt marsh, tidepools and more. Explore each habitat and discover signs of the season along the shore. Examine fossils, native plants and beach wrack. This is a free event.

World Water Monitoring Day
Volunteers are needed for World Water Monitoring Day!
Join us at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium to help test the health of our beaches and salt marsh as part of World Water Monitoring Day. Learn about what you can do to conserve water and prevent water pollution.
No experience is necessary and this activity is open to all ages! Children under 15 need to be accompanied by an adult. Bring a hat and comfortable shoes for walking on the sand.
